Trend Alert: Red Jeans

"It's the most wonderful time of the year"... Who's ready for the holidays? Who's ready to look stylish for the holidays? Me! Heres a cute trend for this winter : red jeans! They give off an adorable holiday/winter vibe. Try burgundy, maroon, oxblood, bright red or any other hue this season. I have a pair myself in a darker maroon color that I got from tilly's. It's really fun to get creative with outfits. Most often I've seen that people like wearing either black or white tops with them, which I do agree looks nice. One tip : don't go with a green or red top. Red would just be too overwhelming and green is a bit too tacky with Christmas right around the corner. If you go with a nuetral top color then why not spice it up with a cute scarf? Try a scarf with hints of your pant color or other "jewel tones". If you wear a beige top try a white, black or brown scarf! Or match a top with a black blazer. OR if you like the nautical look wear a cute blue thin striped top. Really there's infinite options. Heres some different ideas to try with your jeans.

I think this is a super cute way to wear red jeans. This is my favorite way to wear them. A more casual look definantley, great for school. Just wear the jeans with a red top and a black blazer/jacket. You could wear it with your favorite band T and a black leather jacket too. And of course match it with some cute black booties. You can also try a black jacket with a black top or a white blazer and a white top. Or try some gold accessories!

White, black, grey, browns, blue striped... Those are the most popular colors for tops to match with red jeans! But of course you can also get creative and try other colors. That's all for now! Stay fabulous!

Popular Shoes For This Season!

Hey you guys! Now that I've got the blog up and running I most likely will only be posting around once or twice a week. Just like most everybody else, I'm always busy with school. Also, from now on I am going to try harder to bring you the best quality posts, with lots of details and I will be spending more time on my individual posts rather than posting all the time. Quality over quantity, right? Now back to the topic...

Shoes, shoes, shoes! A girl can never have too many shoes in her closet! I've been spotting some very cute shoes this fall that! So many different styles to express yourself in any way you want. Whenever I'm walking around and I catch another one of those adorable pairs of booties or spot another one of those vintage oxfords I just get so jealous! "I want a pair!" I think. So I've gathered a bunch of different types of shoes and found where you can buy them! Get ready for an adorable shoe overload of all kinds of popular shoes this fall!

Wedge booties are super popular this fall. Everybody needs a pair of booties, so why not try them in this style? Black is a trending color right now, but you can also try them in tan, brown, and grey. These booties I found on Zappos.com, check them out for all your fashion needs. They have everything at amazing prices, and the best part is if you end up not liking the product or it doesn't fit you can always send it back! These are from Call It Spring at $60.00 and they come in Women's sizes from 6 - 10 . Find them HERE .

For my second trending shoe type I bring to you oxfords! Super vintage style, and can be worn with any outfit! If you want to go all out with the vintage theme try wearing a peter pan collared shirt or dress. These are also from Zappos because I just love their site so much. I loved these shoes because I thought the touch of detail really worked with this and they are super cute. Another idea to style these is to replace the laces with a ribbon of your choice, or just white. Oxfords come in so many other styles and colors so its always fun to see what's out there. These shoes are only 47.99! Get the HERE.

A funky new twist to your regular day sneakers. Try these sneakers with wedges and cute colors! They have them in blue and black. The black even has sequins on the raised design of the shoe. I think they are super fun shoes to add a pop to your outfit! If you can't see, on the front they are laced up to the top with a velcro strap in the middle. They come in sizes 6 - 10 on delias.com.

Get them HERE.

Last but not least are the metallic and glossy toe caps for pumps and flats! Try adding a little pizzaz to your normal pumps or boring flats and buy some with glossy or metallic toe caps! If you love punk style shoes, try some with an added detail of stufs on the toe cap! So funky fresh! I found these on TopShop. They have all sorts of new trendy clothes at good prices. These are $60.00 and come in women's sizes
5.5 - 10.5. Fid them HERE.

Here are some additional ideas for each type

Taylor's X-Factor Look!

Last night, Taylor Swift performed her new single "State of Grace" on the X-Factor stage in front of a huge crowd of screaming fans. She rocked a simple, casual and almost western style outfit during her performance. She wore a black fedora, a flowy white blouse and some skinny black tights.

What I want to point out is that you don't need to have a super complicated outfit with lots of going on to look put together! Just look at Taylor! So If you are stuck with not knowing what to wear for a day, just go with a simple flowy top and your favorite pair of skinny jeans! If you want to go for a more western-style look, pop on a black fedora and wear a top with some dark patches on the sleeves/elbows and your favorite pair of fall boots to top it all off. Here are some ideas for a simple outfit, similair to Taylor's.
Check out Foreer 21 for lots of
cute blouses like this one with
black accents on the shoulders.

You can find a simple black fedora at your
local target!

Add a western touch with this
tall riding style boots from
justfab.com!

That's all for now, sorry for such a short post! I promise I will have more posts up soon. What did you think of Taylor's outfit? Love it or Leave it? Comment below!

Easy And Cute Saran Wrap Mani - With Tutorial!

Hi guys! Today I've got a super cute and easy nail style for you to try out! All you need are two colors and some Saran wrap!

I'm using Essie Turquoise and Caicos, and Playdate

First thing's first, paint your base color. I'm using Turquoise and Caicos.

After that dries take your Saran wrap and squish it into a ball.

Now take your second color and paint a little bit of that on the Saran ball. I used Playdate.

Now take that ball and dab it on your finger, making sure you get all the sides. (Since I only have two hands and one was needed to take the picture it doesn't look like I'm actually dabbing.)

And thats it! Just add a topcoat and you're good!

Here's the final result for all my fingers!

Hope you enjoyed the tutorial!

Trend Alert: Popular Colors for the Fall

Now that it's fall, I feel like I need to just take a little break from all the bright and energetic neon colors from the summer. Being busy with school, I don't usually take the time to try new colors. I usually just stick to my basics and my neutrals. They are good at times and for those lazy days when you don't feel like organizing an outfit, but what happens when you get bored of browns and greys and whites? "What other new color choices are there?"  you say? So I decided to do a little bit of research and here's a few colors I think are going to be a hit this fall (and already are!) : Oxblood, Jewel Tones,  and Mustard Yellow.

At first glance, the oxblood color didn't seem to be pop that much for me. It looked a little bland, and I wasn't really into it. So I kept looking. Soon enough, I realized I was really starting to fall for this color! There are so many ways you can wear it. It really looks gorgeous on virtually any item. There are also so many variations of the color, you can do anything with it. The hues range from a deep purple to a reddish - brown to burgundy and so much more. It really is a perfect color for the season. If you are feeling like trying something new and dramatic to your look, try dark oxblood colored lipstick or lipgloss this fall! If you want, try matching an oxblood piece with something leather like shoes, pants, or a jacket. Even famous fashion designer Jason Wu is all for it (or did he start the trend?)! Check out his fall runway collection and you might just fall in love too. Here are a few of my favorites from his oxblood designs on the runway:

I love how he matched the coat
with a super deep hue on the fur.

Just goes to show that oxblood is
gorgeous on pants too!

Moving on to colder colors, jewel tones are super popular this fall. And with even more variety to the last category you can just go crazy with them! There are blues, greens, turqiouse, emerald, saphire... so many different choices! But there is one thing that they must have, a dark tint to them. I really love all these blue colors because it reminds me of my favorie place in the world, the beach. Of course the beach reminds me of summer, and summer means no more school! So what isn't to love about these gorgeous hues? Better yet if you have blue in your eyes, turquoise and aqua are absolutely stunning on you. If you aren't a fan of the dark dramatic look and don't want to go all-out with these dark colors you absolutely don't have to! Balance these dark tones by wearing nuetrals or a white cardigan. You can match your favorite top with a pair of dark pants, or wear the color as an accent scarf to your outfit. Here are some ideas to wear jewel tones:
Magnificant saphire pumps.

I'm sensing a pattern, aren't you? That's right, dark winter-y colors are in early this fall! Including our next color, mustard yellow! Yes I realize mustard yellow fits into the jewel category as well, I just think it should really be highlighted as a seperate one for today. Everything about this color just says autumn to me. It reminds me of golden fall leaves. Since this color is more bright and overwhelming at times, make sure you balance it with other peices in your wardrobe. For instace, If you decide to wear a mustard shirt, maybe you can balance it with a nuetral, jewel toned, or oxblood cardigan. "Wait one second Makena, so you're saying I can combine all these colors you just mentioned in outfits?" Surprise! Of course you can! Jewel tones go great with mustard, mustard go goes great oxblood and oxblood is great with jewel tones! Back to balancing the outfit, one simple and popular way to do it is to add some back tights and black boots. Here are some outfit ideas for mustard yellow:

tights and boots.

Style Watch: Geometric Bling

Geometric designs are a hit this fall! If you love the edgy geometric designs and patterns, than you will absolutely love them in necklaces and earrings! With all the different color combinations and shapes you can get as creative as you want! Wear them as bold statement pieces, or simple little accents. Even celebs are getting into the geometric fad. Here's Kristen Stewart rocking a cute little triangle bracelet. She went all-out with the geometric theme and even matched it with a trendy color-blocked sweater. If you aren't into color-blocking, then you can just wear a simple sweater or top to go with your piece.
