Neon Gradient Under Black Spotted-Tutorial included

Hi! It's Zoe! Sorry I don't post very often on here, I'm going to try to start posting once a week if I can. Anyway, today I've got for you a fun neon gradient tutorial, plus a way to recreate a look from a polish you can only get in France! Check it out!

Here's just the plain neon gradient.

Sorry about the bad cleanup, I didn't realize it was there until after I did the second part of this mani. And believe it or not, but this color is 10x mor bright in real life, neons are just really hard to capture on camera.

Now I know what you're all thinking, how did she do that?! Well, here's how!

First up,  here is what you will be using: A plastic bag, a makeup sponge, and a few colors of your choice, they dont have to be neon. I used--from left to right-- China Glaze Pool Party, Sun Worshipper, Yellow Polka Dot Bikini, In The Limelight, and Purple Panic.

First paint your nail white, then let it dry COMPLETELY. It is crucial that it is all the way dry or your whole manicure is messed up.

Put a few drops of your polish together on a paper bag, you dont want them too spread apart.

Then take your makeup sponge and press down on the colors, don't press down for too long.

Then take the colored sponge and lightly roll it over your finger, don't press down too hard or else it will take the white off of your finger and there won't be any color. You'll need to repeat steps 2-4 a few times so that the color actually shows up on the nail.

That should be good! You can always clean up around the nail so you don't see the white cuticles.

Now, I got OPI Black Spotted for Christmas which is a Sephora France exclusive, so chances are you won't have it, but there's an easy way to recreate it!

Here's my gradient topped off with the black spotted.

If you haven't already heard of Cutepolish on YouTube then you're missing out. She has great, super easy tutorials that even I started out with. She recently made a tutorial for water spotted nails, and the outcome looks a lot like this polish! Here it is.

Hope this post was super helpful!

Outfit Of The Day and Other Things

Hey guys! So I finally got around to oragnizing an outfit that is worthy of OOTD for FabMag. And I put my new camera to some use and took some pics of it! (With the help of Isabella of course). I wore a creamish white dress that I found in my wonderful mommy's closet along with this super adorable and comfy red infinity scarf also creds to my mom. And then cause I'm a sucker for layers I wore a grey cardigan over the dress and some black tights(from f21 because they rock) and my new keds. I love love love my keds. I got them a few weeks ago and they are sneakers so they go with literally anything. They also came with those purple reddish ribbons for the laces and I think it's really a perfect touch of sweetness and color to an outfit. I can't really say where to get the dress or scarf, but you can probably get a similair gray cardigan at any store like Target or such. The keds you can get online and as I said before the tights are from forever21. Heres some pics of the outfit, I'll also be posting them to instagram later.

The scarf is actually almost an ombre pattern because it had a red stripe on the edge with a big pink stripe in the center that sort of fades into this pretty deep purplish color. You can see the texture of the dress how it is kind of light and has wooden beads.

And here are my new shoes! The purple/pink ribbon laces match my scarf really well actually which is kind of cute. And the grey part of the shoes have this soft fabric texture that is interesting.

In other news! I (Makena) opened up an etsy shop called HelloBauble. You can find it at hellobauble.etsy.com . I'm currently selling rings, bobby pins, bracelets, and magnets all made with VINTAGE buttons! I'm gonna be super jealous of whoever buys the black ring up in my shop because I love it. It says "Tresse de Paris" on the front.

The bracelets I'm making are just buttons in the center with hemp cord knots going around it. They're adjustable too to fit a few sizes. You can check out my shop for more info on them and the other items. Heres one of the sets of bracelets.

That's all for now! Hope you enjoyed the long post. I'm also getting a "how to distress old jeans" post ready for you guys that will be up soon, so look out for that!

Stay Fabulous,

Outfit Ideas for Tights

Hey guys! Sorry for not posting in such a long time. I'll try to be more active from now on. I recently got a new camera, Canon Rebel Eos T4i (yay!), so I'm super excited to start taking more photos for the blog once I get the hang of it more! That means more ootd's and other fun things that aren't always pulled from other blogs or sights (well mostly just Pinterest, since I'm pretty much obsessed with it).

It's been getting pretty chilly lately here. and I've been trying to experiment more with layers to stay warm while looking cute! One way to achieve the layered look and add some more warmth to your outfit is with tights. Tights are a great way to stay warm if you want to wear a dress, skirt, or shorts during chilly weather (probably not the best idea when it's freezing outside, but you know what I mean) or just to add more layers to the outfit if you really love that look. There are countless different styles of tights from polka dots, to hearts, to zig zags, to the super popular "ugly sweater" print and so on. The difficult part for me sometimes is trying to figure out how to put them into an outfit that's casual enough for everyday wear. I actually have a brown pair and a black pair of tights with little "zig-zags" on them that I got from forever 21. I can literally count the number of times I've worn both of them on one hand in the past year. I've never been able to think of a way to wear them that I would at least feel confident about in public. Now I've been looking around for ideas on how to fit them into a cute outfit and I have plenty to share!
Note: I've found these on Pinterest and other sights so I apologize in advance that I'm not giving credit.

I love this outfit so much! You can wear tights under a cute little dress with a cardigan, jacket or sweater and a matching scarf. You can pair it with your favorite booties and your good to go! I love love love the white lace dress in the pic matched with all the other colors. Reminds me a lot of fall.

Next up are skirts! So many different options with skirts. You can wear it with a little plain neutral skirt in the pic or maybe with a floral or patterned skirt. If it isn't too cold you could wear a cute little top, or try a long sleeve shirt or sweater. Another idea is an over sized sweater(but not too big that it covers your adorable little skirt!).

Shorts shorts shorts! If you are in love with a pair of your shorts and you just are dying to wear them then pop on some tights underneath! I think they look best with light blue jean shorts or maybe even black or maroon. Really if you wanted you could wear any color. When your trying to decide what top to wear you could go with anything. Just think of it as matching a top with shorts.

The last one is an over sized sweater. If your wearing tights though, you would probably want to wear some shorts over them too (because tights are generally sheer or pretty thin). Again, you can match your sweater with a cute scarf and some boots!

Hope I have helped sparked some inspiration for future outfits. Don't be afraid to wear tights, put those dust collectors to some use! That's all for now - Stay fabulous!
